           History

                 The Fund was created October 17, 1991 for the purpose of providing workers' compensation insurance to the members of the Louisiana Safety Association of Timbermen-SIF.

                  The members of the fund consist of employers in various industries throughout the state.

                  The Fund is operated as a tax-exempt trust under the laws of the State of Louisiana.  For federal income tax purposes, the Fund is treated as a mutual insurance company.
